| The VinElla Tastings & Special Events
As of today, nobody has figured out how to do wine tastings over the internet, but we're sure somebody down the road at Microsoft is working on it. Until then, anytime you visit us at VinElla, we'll have a selection of wine and beers to offer you, free of charge, for sampling and purchase. On Saturdays - and on other days when a great opportunity presents itself - we'll have special tastings, some with themes that we've organized ourselves and some presented by our distributors and selected wineries.
Occasionally, we'll schedule special events featuring tastings of truly exceptional wines; the only tastings for which we ever charge a fee. These tastings will serve a dual purpose: you'll sample some truly delicious wines you may not have tried and we'll raise money for The Mobility Project, a Bremerton, WA, based organization that distributes free wheelchairs, crutches, walkers and other mobility-related equipment free to people who need them in Afghanistan, Central America, Africa and Asia. Recently, the Project, for the first time, turned its its efforts to a domestic crisis when they provided replacement chairs to people in the Gulf States who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. With Judye in a wheelchair, we've received a first-hand education in the tremendous expense and effort that recovery from a debilitating injury or birth defect requires. So, our commitment to helping folks like Mobility Project is as much a part of us as the wine. No featured winery or distributor receives payment for the wines poured at these tastings. Nor do we. 100% of all door receipts go to charity. Watch this website for advance notice of wines coming to the shop as well as a schedule of the tastings. |
